Found treasures part two

Here are the rest of the lovely goodies that we managed to find in the charity shops the other week.

A great little DIY book, a mug stand which will be used to hold my bracelets and a couple of gorgeous plates.

Also found a lovely tablecloth and a crocheted blanket. The blanket has some how made its way onto a certain Little Miss reading chair, ready for snuggling with.

Found Treasures - Part One

I'm always on the lookout for special items for my home. But being a single mum I certainly cannot afford to buy new items. So it's good that I love all things vintage and retro.

Since moving into our "house on top of a shop" we have added some wonderful items of furniture. None of these items have been new, they have all been preloved. These items have come from friends, friends of friends, eBay and carboot sales.

We have also purchased a number if other items from eBay, carboot sales and of course charity shops.

I have decided to start showing some of those wonderful items that we manage to find on our weekly jaunts.

Last weekend I found this lovely book that I have been after for ages in one of our local charity shops.

It's a 1974 edition of Mrs Beetons book. Nearly as old as me!! It makes a fantastic read. I am still after a much earlier version of her book. Who knows what I might find At the car boot sales and in the charity shops this year.

The Caterham Vintage & Art Fair

A wonderful weekend ahead planned. Loads of catching up to do with housework, blog and life in general.

We also looking forward to going to The Caterham Vintage & Art Fair.

It is going to be held in a wonderful local building that I have had the privilege to work in.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Defest 2011

As part of our local summer entertainment we have a music festival that is on for two days.

We decided to go to the Vintage Fest day. The day started with a cruise through the local streets of classic and vintage vehicles. These then all parked up at the festival grounds for you to have a look around.

Then it was time for the singers and dancers to get up on the stage. Some great Rock 'n' Roll music and loads of jiving going on, including a class teaching all those who wanted to learn how to jive.

There was also a Vintage Tea shop and a vintage clothes stall. There were loads of craft stalls as well and a Birds of Prey display.

A brilliant day of music and dancing. Looking forward to next year, might do both days then.
