June Scavenger Hunt

Well at long last I am back on track with the scavenger hunt as arranged by Kathy.

I really enjoyed doing this again, and I hope to catch up on the ones that I have missed out on.

So here we go:

Sleep - on my bed full of cushions.

On the edge - my little cat on the edge of a shadow box

Before - my old swing seat, I'm sad.

After - my new swing seat, I'm happy again.

Symmetry - a butterfly.

Out of reach - crisps and things on top of the kitchen cupboard.

Close - my latest finds a toast rack and butter knife.

At night - view from my patio.

Diamond - Diamond Jubilee decoration.

Crown - coronation mugs in the bathroom.

Bunting - so much of it around this month. This was for Little Miss birthday.

Majesty - our view in Battersea Park for the Jubilee.

A little glimpse of the last month. I'm looking forward to next months list.

Not a white elephant

But a purple one (not that it looks very purple in any of the photos I've taken).

I made mum a elephant cake for her birthday yesterday. She loved it and so did everyone else.

Friendship

Sometimes friendship can be very surprising. I have a very special friend who's birthday present this was.

If you had spoken to me 5 years ago and said that we would be friends I wouldn't of believed you.

But in that time we have been through some very tough times and have been there for each other.

Our friendship is an unexpected pleasure, and is so cherished.

My Little Sis

The same day a Little Miss birthday party was my Little Sis birthday.

Little cupcake made and mini cupcakes made and all decorated especially for my Little Sis.

Little Miss Birthday Party Time

Well once the birthday cake was made it was soon party time.

Room sorted out and rearranged.

Piles of books taken out of cupboard before it was moved. The books were eventually put back in the cupboard. That was after I got distracted flicking through them. I really must get myself a bookshelf.

Room decorated and ready for the cinema party and games.

Little Miss invited six friends round to watch Gnomeo & Juliet. Loads of munching of popcorn, pizza and pick n mix sweets was done. Games were played and at the end just to check that they did watch the film a mini quiz.

Presents opened by the birthday girl.

Candles lit on the cake and gasps all around as the cake is taken in.

Party bags handed out, then they all headed off home. Mummy then has a large glass of wine!

And a yummy cupcake.

The Birthday Cake 2011

I love baking and also decorating cakes. So its no surprise that when it comes to Little Miss and her birthday cake a lot of thought and time goes into it.

Start of the chocolate madeira cake recipe. This was cooked on the weekend before the birthday party.

Cooked in two loaf tins and some extra in another tin. Any idea as to what it will be?

Butter-cream filing being done by Little Sis, and the cake is starting to take shape. Do you know what it is yet (in her best Rolf Harris voice)?

Blue icing being added (and yes we had to wear gloves as it turned our fingers blue!).

I hope you have guessed what it is.

Doors and panelling being added.

The final additions and the Tardis is ready.

And a blue light added to the top. Yes the light flashed, but no matter how many photos I took I could not get a good one with the light on!

We took our time doing this over the week. But it was so worth it when Little Miss saw it at her party.

What wonderful cake creations have you done for your little ones?

Little Miss Birthday Time

The other day it was 9th birthday for Little Miss.

Up as early as she could be for snuggles in bed with Mummy.

Then it was breakfast in bed.

Time to open presents from Mummy.

Then it was off to see Granny, and more present opening.

We always go out with Little Miss on her birthday and this year she wanted to go to Brighton.

So off we all go. A little ride on the Volk's Railway

A wander on the pier and strawberry milkshake.

Fun on the trampoline and a ride on the merry go round.

A visit to the old penny arcade, and fortunes told.

Time on the beach building pebble castles and eating chips.

Then later on a lovely meal and birthday cake.

A lovely day had by all. Happy Birthday my special little girl.
