De-clutter time 2

Right the first thing I did in my de-clutter was easy and simple, now for the next item on my list:

*Sort out my clothes*

So everything was taken out of the wardrobe and put  on to the bed. Then it was time to go through each item, at this point not trying on, far too hot to do that!

Questions I asked myself:

1. When did I last wear this?
2. Did I feel happy/comfortable wearing this item?

Once I answered these questions I put the clothes into two piles, keep and get rid of.

Then it was try on time with the keep stuff.

The next questions were:

3. Do I still feel happy/comfortable wearing this?

4. Does it fit?

So some more items ended up in the get rid of pile.

Everything was then put back neatly into the cupboard.

The get rid of pile was then split into, material I can use and car boot pile.

De-clutter time

Yes its that time again to sort through those things in life you just let build up. You go along fine with how it all is then all of a sudden you realise you need to get this lot sorted.

The de-clutter started the other day with the first item on my list:

*Sort loyalty cards and gift cards*

3 old gift cards in my purse that had nothing on them, sorry but why did I keep them!

Various old loyalty cards disposed of as well.

Now I have a purse that is a bit better organised.

Cluttered desk

If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign of?

Time to put away a few things

Clearing the clutter on your computer

Oh I have been having a serious sort out of all the documents, scans, photos and just general junk on my computer.

I came across these great little buttons that I saved from somewhere at some point.

But my favourite ones have to be...

Quote -declutter

Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

William Morris

Such a great quote and the perfect philosophy.

The future...

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

I saw this quote a couple of years ago and jotted it down in a notebook. I have been sorting through my old notebooks as part of my de-cluttering. This means that I can watch Apprentice as well as de-clutter

Spring clean

Oh spring is in the air. A bit of a tidy over the weekend resulted in one large bag of rubbish, numerous items heading off to the dump and charity shop, and various outgrown toys being passed on.

Also I have decided to revamp my coat hangers. I know not a major thing but I think was becoming a problem. I love wooden hangers and how nice things look in the wardrobe when clothes are hung on them. The problem I have though is things slipping off wooden hangers and lack of wardrobe space for my clothes. The other week I got some of the space saving hangers for Little Miss, I'm now converted. Things don't fall off them, no clothes in a pile at the bottom of the wardrobe.

So this pile has been sent off to the charity shop.

Organising and sorting

I have started sorting out my shelves in my craft room.

One of my challenges that I have set myself this year is to make things without buying any more supplies. So with what I already have I have to make loads of nice, pretty things.

Four shelves of the sixteen have been sorted, now for the rest of them.

30 Day Declutter

I am going to be following (and joining in with) the wonderful Thrifty Mrs and her 30 Day Declutter.

The idea is to get rid of 90 items in 30 days. So by 30th November 2011 there will be 90 less items in my home. Well that is so long as I don't then bring in 90 items!!

So I will be adding a bit extra to this. Yes I will be getting rid of 90 items. But also I will not be bringing in any extra items (apart from food, groceries and Christmas presents for other people).

That way I should see the results.

I will keep things updated on here once a week.

So here goes.

1. Old pair trainers belonging to Little Miss (too small).
